Our Facilities

We have been providing a climbing facility for the upstate since 1995. Climb @ Blue Ridge is the only gym in the upstate with the capacity for top rope, bouldering, and lead climbing. Our passion is to encourage everyone to experience the sport of climbing.

Top Rope Climbing

Top rope climbing (or top roping) is a style in climbing in which the climber is securely attached to a rope which then passes up, through an anchor system at the top of the climb, and down to a belayer at the foot of the climb.

Bouldering

Bouldering can be done in the gym in designated bouldering areas and anywhere else in the gym up to a safe height (typically 14ft). Bouldering is a form of rock climbing that is performed without the use of ropes or harnesses. Most bouldering climbers use climbing shoes to help secure footholds, chalk to keep their hands dry, and bouldering mats to prevent injuries from falls.

Lead Climbing

You must have your own gear to lead climb at the gym. This type of climbing is much more like outdoor climbing. We recommend you experience this type of climbing in the gym if you are thinking about heading outdoors.
